Cows that are no longer productive have the right to a carefree old age

That is the idea behind the Leemweg Foundation. Our foundation adopts and cares for cows from all over the Netherlands that have escaped from the slaughterhouse, have been neglected or, for whatever reason, have nowhere else to go.

The animals that are housed with us have often literally looked death in the eye. No cow or ox is ever slaughtered on the Leemweg. With us they may chew the cud in peace and quiet, until they die of old age.
