he Northest Georgia Animal Shelter is an open admission, non-profit Shelter, supported financially by private donations and funds from eight city and county jurisdictions. We accept animals from Hart and Franklin Counties. We often take in sick and injured animals, feral cats and wild dogs. In these cases, it is our obligation to humanely end the suffering of these animals. We strive to get all of our animals adopted, and often work with rescue groups and other local shelters to achieve this. Our maximum capacity is 160 animals. Currently our adoption rate is 30% and we are working hard every day to increase it. We also have a 50% RESCUE rate! Thanks to all the rescues that pull from us. We are very rescue friendly.
